Diana Lu came to this country less than a decade ago, having changed careers and countries. She was trained as a doctor, became a university teacher, and then became a businesswoman. She learned English by watching TV in China.

She came to America relying only on her husband. Her marriage began to crumble two months after her arrival. Working totally on her own she started her international business venture from scratch. In 1993 she earned the equivalent of $30 a month in China.

By the end of the decade, with no formal business training, she was on her way to a successful career in the technology industry, working with some of the world’s top companies. By age 34, she retired from her telecom business venture as one of the leading female entrepreneurs in her field, and continued to explore new opportunities and to engage in new ventures.

The author of Daughter of the Yellow River, Diana Lu is bridging the gap between the East and West - helping people realize their dreams and maximize their potential as immigrants to the United States, or as entrepreneurs.
